Overview
Warehouse history (also labeled Inventory history in the menu) shows every stock movement line the system has recorded: imports, exports, loss/adjustments, and internal transfers. Use it to audit what changed, when, and in which warehouse — and to jump to the source voucher.
You can also open history for a single item from Warehouse → Items → open an item → History tab.
Prerequisites
- Permission: Warehouse history → View (
wh_warehouse_history). - Data: Movements appear only after the related stock document has been posted (e.g. approved goods receipt or delivery).
Step-by-step: Review global inventory history
- Go to Warehouse → Warehouse history (Inventory history).
- Optionally narrow results:
- Warehouse — one or more storage locations
- Commodity — one or more items
- Status — stock import, stock export, loss & adjustment, or internal delivery note
- From date / To date — voucher date range
- The table refreshes automatically when you change a filter.
- Click a form code link to open the source document (goods receipt, delivery, loss adjustment, or internal transfer).
Expected result: Each row shows the item, warehouse(s), voucher date, quantity before and after the movement, lot/serial details, and movement type.
Step-by-step: Review history for one item
- Go to Warehouse → Items.
- Open the item you need.
- Select the History tab.
- Use the same filters as the global screen if needed (warehouse, status, dates).
Expected result: Only movements for that commodity are listed.

Common issues
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |

| Menu item missing | No View permission on warehouse history | Request Warehouse history → View |
| Empty table | No posted movements yet, or filters too narrow | Clear filters; confirm stock documents are approved |
| Expected movement missing | Document type not in ledger (e.g. packing list only) | Open the source feature directly; not all workflows write to this ledger |
| Wrong date on row | Filter uses parent voucher date, not line timestamp | Adjust date range or open linked voucher |
| Cannot change data | History is read-only | Edit the source stock document (if still draft) or create an adjustment |
