Overview

Commissions is the monthly spreadsheet where you enter per-employee commission amounts before creating a pay slip run. Each employee has one Commission amount column.

If your organization uses the Sales Commission module and has turned on integration under Payroll settings, you can also Synchronize paid commission totals from that module instead of typing amounts manually.

Complete this screen after Manage employees and before creating a pay slip run for the month.

Prerequisites

  • Permission: Commissions → View (open the screen). Create or Edit to save, sync, or import.
  • Employees must exist on Manage employees.
  • Optional (sync): Sales Commission module active and Payroll → Settings → Data integration → Sales Commission module integration enabled.

Step-by-step: Open and review the commissions spreadsheet

  1. Go to Payroll → Commission manage.
  2. The page opens on the current month with one row per eligible employee.
  3. Read-only identity columns: employee number, name, department.
  4. Edit the Commission amount column for each employee.

Expected result: Handsontable grid with employee rows. The save button reads Submit (first save) or Update (data already exists).

Step-by-step: Filter employees

  1. Set Month to the payroll period you are working on.
  2. Optionally filter by Department, Role, or Staff (multi-select).
  3. Wait for the grid to reload.

Tip: Confirm the month picker before saving — the save action uses the selected month.

Step-by-step: Enter commission amounts manually

  1. Click Commission amount cells and enter numeric values.
  2. Click Submit or Update.

Expected result: Success message; commission data is stored for that month and used when you create a pay slip run.

Step-by-step: Synchronize from Sales Commission (when available)

  1. Confirm Sales Commission integration is enabled in Payroll → Settings → Data integration.
  2. On Payroll → Commission manage, set the correct Month.
  3. Click Synchronized (button appears only when integration is active).
  4. The system pulls paid commission totals from the Sales Commission module for each staff member and saves them.

Expected result: Commission amounts match paid receipts in the Sales Commission module for that month.

Step-by-step: Import from Excel

  1. On the commissions screen, click Import Excel.
  2. Choose the target month and download the sample file.
  3. Update only the blue (editable) columns — do not change orange (read-only) columns or add rows/columns.
  4. Upload the file and review the import result.
